How to write a listing that gets replies

Five simple tips for a listing people understand at a glance and answer: a clear title, a price, the right category — and share it with your friends.

· 2 min de leitura

Whether you are looking for help or offering it, your listing decides whether people reply. These five tips make a big difference.

1. Say what, where and when in the title

The title is the first thing people read, and often the only thing. Write it so the job is clear without clicking.

  • Good: "Assemble a wardrobe on Saturday, Valby" or "Laundry pick-up twice a week, Quezon City"
  • Not so good: "Help needed"

2. Add a price

Listings with a price get replies faster, because people can see straight away whether it suits them. Pick the type that fits the job:

  • Per hour for cleaning, babysitting or gardening
  • Per item, for example per piece of furniture to assemble
  • Fixed price for a clear-cut job, for example "Move a sofa down from the 2nd floor, DKK 400" or "Deep clean of a studio condo, ₱1,500"

Not sure what to ask? See what others charge in the same category.

3. Choose the right category

People find listings by choosing a category, such as Furniture, Cleaning or Handyman. In the right place, your listing reaches the right people.

4. Give the key details, briefly

Three or four lines are enough:

  • How big is the job? (for example "3-room flat, about 3 hours" or "2-bedroom condo")
  • Anything special? (for example "We have a dog", "4th floor, no lift")
  • When does it need to be done?

Your exact address is never shown. People only see the area.

5. Share it with your friends

This is what myservice.is is built for. Once your listing is up, share the link on Messenger, WhatsApp or Facebook. Your friends often know someone who can help, and a listing shared by a friend is taken more seriously than an ad from a stranger.

Reply quickly

When someone gets in touch, answer the same day. It is the best way to get the job done, or to get the job.
